53 rd INTERNATIONAL GATHERING OF THE CHILDREN OF EUROPE “JOY OF EUROPE”

„IMAGINE, CHILDREN…“
100 th anniversary of birth of Duško Radović

The 53 rd International Gathering of the Children of Europe “Joy of Europe” will be dedicated to the hundredth anniversary of birth of Duško Radović, one of the most important Serbian writers, authors, journalists and editors.
Duško Radović left a mark on the “Joy of Europe” manifestation since its very beginnings. His famous verse, “All that grows wishes to grow” became a part of the anthem of the International Gathering of the Children of Europe and it is widely recognized by generations growing up with it. Duško Radović also created the “Friendship Dictionary” on the occasion of the first Gathering of the Children of Europe, choosing fifteen of the “most beautiful” words which connect all children of Europe and the world: child, bread, play, book, love, mother, peace, father, song, friend, bird, joy, freedom, sun and Europe.
The 2022 International Gathering of the Children of Europe chose the verse of Duško Radović „IMAGINE, CHILDREN…”, hoping that the children and the guest groups remember this important author, explore his works and inspired by it or by this year’s motto, present their own creations and imaginary worlds at this year’s “Joy of Europe”.
